10 Nov Unitary Patent System
Great news for innovators in Europe – the Unitary Patent System will soon enter into force, which, with one application, will enable unitary effect for a European patent in 25 EU member states!
The long-awaited entry into operation of the system in the spring of 2023 will mark the beginning of a new era in the field of intellectual property and fostering innovation across the European continent. The creation of the Unified Patent Court will remove the remaining obstacles to creating a single European market, which will significantly help the development of technological innovation.
On this occasion, on November 17, 2022, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., the conference ‘The Unitary Patent system – A Game Changer for Innovation in Europe’ is being organized under the auspices of the FOD Economie/SPF Economie/FPS Economy, the European Patent Office, and the European Commission. This hybrid conference aims to comprehensively present the new system from different perspectives and provide insight into assessing the benefits it will bring to entrepreneurs and innovative companies. High-ranking experts from the European Commission, the European Patent Office, and the Belgian government will be speakers at the conference, as well as representatives of innovative SMEs, academia, and the judiciary.
The conference can be followed live via YouTube and LinkedIn, and all the necessary information can be found at the link: https://economie.fgov.be/en/events/unitary-patent-system-game?utm_source=Measuremail&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Event-Mailing&utm_term=Event&utm_content=Campagneenevt1
