14 Aug Dron that could provide global internet access
Did you know that about 4 billion people around the world has no access to the internet? Mark Zuckerberg, CEO and founder of Facebook, has an idea to bring internet to the parts of the world where access to the internet access is still not provided. The plan is one step closer to make it happen after solar aircraft successfully ended trial flight in the sky over the US state Arizona. This billionaire’s plan is to make internet available to people that are out of the global network – by using drones.
This version of drone is equipped with high number of sensors and system for stopping propellers so that in case of falling, landing would be the safest possible. Trial flight was not all that successful since aircraft didn’t reach planned highs. However, aircraft collected a lot of information which will help to improve drone characteristics.
The weight of this drone is 450 kg with wing range same as commercial Boeing 737.
So far, nobody has made aircraft without pilot that will be able to stay at the air for months, so we must work on every single detail so that we can reach our goal- says Zuckerberg.
